world happened to xanga

hahhaa it took me like 10 minutes to find how to make a new blog
I feel so old.

I don't really even know how to blog anymore
haha this feels so weird.

The olympics are on and they are so fantastically awesome <3
My family has moved to a new house (still in naperville)
and now I no longer live there...

many people have left
and now many people are back

haha I remember when I used to push aside homework to write long intense xanga posts... and read books... I loved the times when I read....and when i was so excited about... what i was so excited about.. and whne there were so many exciting things happening to me

i feel like i've gotten so busy so i stopped writing

Summer school just ended last week and I think i'm finally coming out of my 2 year busy depressed slump if only for a few weeks until school begins once again.

i'm so excited that summer school is over though... and that we finished moving....
I moved a total of four times this summer: Once to go home from the dorms, once from our old house to our new house, another time to the old apartment on peoria street (where we got screwed over by the awesome!! landlord) and then one more time to my current apartment... I think i've hung out with a total of 4 people this summer since i wasn't allowed out when i was moving.. and then nobody was here in chicago, and then people left for exciting places and things outside of the country.. and then summer school happened and there was no time to do anything with anyone anywhere... I don't think i've ever pulled so many concentrated all-nighters and prepared so little for finals...

but it's over! and I feel so free... it's a strange feeling.. staying in the same place and having people around you come and go. I would like to leave too... it's hard to be the constant that is always here for people to return to... but it's also nice to be here to watch people grow : )

So he took me away from my bondage again.. from the drag that i let this first class world put on my soul...

i was talking to my dad the other day... and amongst many things.. including some rather awkward topics i really would never like to discuss with my father ever again, he asked me if I wanted to go live in China. When I said yeah, he was like why? why would you want to live in such a scary place? Everywhere you go it's crowded and you have to shove your way to survival. And i said, well, this is quite true, it is dirty and crowded and i've had to shove quite a few people (and accidentally stepped on some...sorry!), and pee quickly in an open field on a mountain before a cow meandered by, but God's presence is so there. His heart breaks for the crowds-those pushing shoving crowds, for the millions who live on the streets and don't even have the slightest idea of what justice means. There's no room to be a fake Christian there. You either love God and run the race 120%, or you don't. it's real. freakishly real. Really.. I got a little freaked by how real it was. we don't go to be the great big american to save the poor little china soul. we want to see them as they come to know God and encourage them as they develop because these earth quakers are gonna finish telling the rest of the world what they're missing out on.

I did miss American food, though.

and we saw the Wans! Priscilla, Joseph and Johnny + parents and grandparents

it has been a rather long time

Hillsong United concert last night was fantasmal... i wish i had that kind of talent... but it was amazing being there and feeling the Spirit move. and the awesome blasting music.. you know you're at a good concert when you can feel the bass vibrating your whole body.

my hair got longer.. i don't know when i should chop it off

i lost my camera awhile ago.. so i haven't been visually documenting my activities.. but here is a picture of the hottest male on the planet (next to Jesus).. prepare yourself

so i've realized that... naperville white kids are really racist...

growing up in naperville and getting racist comments all the time from bored white kids I guess i expected it when i went to uic.. or maybe not at uic because caucasians are a minority there.. but in chicago or something.. but for the whole year i haven't heard one racist remark towards me. but finally.. walking through downtown naperville today i got one... kinda felt like home... it was weird..

i need to go someplace where there aren't asians swarming all the time.. so i can get made fun of by white kids and humble me down haha

whoa xanga's crazy style now

i'm nearing the 9th week of college and it's getting hard... but God is still rocking my world like crazy.

sometimes i don't even know how to respond anymore. when i'm discouraged God reminds me that He is faithful and it is He who does it. not me.

i crave worship, prayer and raw risk-full passion. i crave people around me who thirst and sprint after God with reckless abandon no looking back.

I crave to be like that too. am i? what would God say if I asked Him whether or not I loved Him?

i miss all of the college people, the high school people, the ihop people, and the china girl+ company...+squatting toilets.

Praise the Lord for what He's given me... college really is THAT much fun.. hahaha.. and i've meet incredibly loving people who pamper me and treat me sooo well

praise the Lord for this year. 7 more to go! woohoo (hopefully)

praise the Lord for allowing me so much time to worship You this week

praise God for breaking my heart again and bringing me into your arms.

i've been pulling lots of late nights.. with only the best support of course (my druggie roommate and psycho people on my floor... hahha just keeding) but i've been getting quality time in.. there's badminton here.. but i miss liu's and my badminton girls. haha

I miss china

good thing I don't need to miss God.. because He's here and going strong.

classes have been interesting.. most of my teachers are extremely unenergetic and mumble through class.. but people here are nice.

i met a girl named sarah on my floor that I totally didn't know was christian until I saw her today when we went to check out campus crusade.. and it turns out she's the daughter of one of ccuc's previous pastors.. it was really nice being able to talk to her know that there's someone going in the same direction I am on my floor

So.. hey.

This summer... actually these past 6 weeks have been really intense and have done a lot to me. I tried to unwind after the three week missions trip to china and I thought I had it figured out- everything I experienced, everything God had done in my life and spoken to me- but I realized these past couple weeks that I am so far from that. Not only that, but I have experienced great and awesome things in these last couple weeks which have also threw me in for a turn. So this summer was uh pretty much the most intense and incredible summer I've ever had.. and I think it's gonna increase in these aspects from now on. and I'm gonna try my best to get it out

but it's gonna take awhile.

so for now.. just moved into uic today. trying to get used to college life.. good to get some rest being away from home.

visited sunny jane and nancy... it was really good to see them again (I miss them already) and witness a little piece of what they're going through and the awesome works God is rocking. IHOP was wonderful and Jesus is so hott and it was good to be drenched with the presence of God.

China pretty much blew my mind

but it was because I discovered a little more of how incredible God is and figured out how much I don't know Him.

I will go back.

I love China.

I want to go back and roll around in it again.

because God is bigger, better, cooler, and more awesome than I've ever thought He was, and His people are crazy amazing.

God's gonna rock this place and I'm getting on.
